The Department of Information Technology was established in the  year 2000 with the objective of promoting research and development,  industrial consultancy, and teaching in frontier areas of Information  Technology. The department currently offers Bachelor of Engineering  (Information Technology) to cater to the needs of skilled and efficient  professionals in the field of Information Technology. Due to the  revolutionary changes in the world of Information Technology and its  impact on our society, there was a growing need for the technical  education in this area. The department took the leading role in this  direction with its commitment towards the society to make it better  equipped in the fast changing scenario.
