At preent research and development activities of department are in the folowing areas-
- Digital Signal and Image Processing
- Microwave Integrated Circuits
- Ferrite Antenna
- VLSI(Very Large Scale Integrated Circuit) design of Communication Circuits.
- Microprocessor based systems design using PLA(Programmable Logic Array)
- Semiconductor Physics
- Thin Film Solar Cells
- Optoelectronics devices and systems.

In recent years about 20 research papers were published in Indian and Foreign journals and presented in different Symposia by the Faculty.
